Making an impact in medicine
Driving our biomedical materials business is a thorough understanding of how advanced materials can be used in the human body to strengthen or replace body parts and accurately deliver medicines. Our materials and customized solutions are used by a variety of medical device manufacturers in numerous therapeutic markets including cardiovascular, vascular, orthopedic, ophthalmic, urinary, neurologic, pain management, diabetes, diagnostic and women’s health.
Furthermore, we provide our next-generation customized polymers to leading biopharmaceutical companies for them to use as they design their drug delivery systems. Leveraging our expertise in life sciences and materials sciences, we’re also delving into the exciting world of regenerative medicine – work that could pave the way for major developments in the treatment of orthopedic injury and disease. Areas of particular interest include creation of scaffolds and matrices, with or without cells or biologics that may enhance regeneration of bone, cartilage and other connective tissues.
We believe in protecting the planet and safeguarding the people who inhabit it. We help our customers develop products tha use less energy and reduce emissions in their operations. And we're dedicated to using materials that are easier to dispose of, with less waste, including developing eco-friendly packaging.
We bring a global perspective to the challenges in our markets as well as to our existing and potential customers. We have partners in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
