At ambient temperature, Arnite polyesters possess a remarkable resistance to a variety of chemicals such as
- Aliphatic hydrocarbons
- Motor vehicle fuels
- Oils and greases
- Dilute acids and bases
- Most aqueous salt solutions
The chemical resistance of polyesters is in general very good, mainly due to its robust chemical nature, but also because it is a crystalline engineering plastic.
We recommend that where an application requires exposure to (or immersion in) specific demanding environments, prototypes need to be tested under actual operating conditions.
DSM have extended knowledge of chemical resistance with various polymers and specialists with very good lab set up which could be suitable for customer tailor made methods.
