High Protection with Great Mobility

Parts of the latest KLTV’s detachable armor is incorporated with Dyneema® which offers passengers high performance ballistic protection against firearms, shells and land mines. The lightweight benefits of Dyneema® also contributes to enabling the KLTV to meet enhanced protection and mobility requirements, even under the conditions of 7-ton maximum weight and operational performance.

The KLTV is designed for the best driving performance and durability. It has been tested in diverse terrain and simulated conditions including mountain, river and extreme weather. The LTV is designed with independent suspension, air conditioning, no spin differential, run-flat tires and can go up to speeds of 130km/h, with operational capabilities such as 60% gradeability and 40% on side slopes.

“Designed to meet global operational needs, this latest state-of-the-art multi-role KLTV meets requirements for great mobility and high protection, as well as the flexibility to operate in changing operational environments or requirements,” said Mr Goo Yong, Jeong, General Manager of Military Vehicles Marketing Team, at KIA Motors. “We are proud to work with DSM Dyneema who are focused on next generation armor technology that enables lighter and thinner amoring solutions without sacrifcing protection.”
