Vitamin C

Carbohydrates, proteins and lipids are the main components of our diet. These are the source for energy and form the basic building blocks in our body. In order to use this source, our body needs tools to process them: Vitamins.

Vitamins are essential, meaning that our body cannot produce them itself. We need to supply them daily – in our diet or through supplements with each vitamin fulfilling a unique function in the metabolism.

The amounts of vitamins required by the body range from a few micrograms to a hundred milligrams per day; and vary from one vitamin to another. The amount needed is also affected by a range of factors like stress, strenuous exercise and diseases - but also by pregnancy and lactation. A deficit of just one vitamins can affect the body’s normal functioning.
