DSM's annual environmental performance figures

DSM is committed to being transparent about its sustainability performance. The company has set ambitious sustainability aspirations company-wide. The main target is to improve DSM’s greenhouse-gas efficiency by 40-45% by 2025, compared to 2008. DSM is on its way to achieving this goal, having achieved 26% greenhouse-gas efficiency in 2017 compared to 2008. DSM’s progress towards other environmental footprint reductions targets is published in the company’s Annual Report.

Key environmental indicators

The table below shows DSM’s footprint for key environmental indicators. Divestments are reported to the last full year with DSM. Acquisitions are reported at the latest in the year following the first full year after acquisition, due to the required alignment of reporting processes and systems.

DSM defines investment and optimisation plans as part of the onboarding process for new acquisitions to ensure they will also improve their environmental impact.
