What is behind Mycofix® Focus

Mycofix® Focus includes FUMzyme® in its composition. FUMzyme® is the only enzyme available that biotransforms fumonisin irreversibly into non-toxic metabolites of hydrolyzed fumonisins and two chains of tricarballylic acid.

Mycotoxins - Harmful and Widespread

Over 90% of all analyzed agricultural commodity samples contain one or more mycotoxins according to the latest dsm-firmenich Mycotoxin Survey.

Mycotoxins impair the health status and performance of animals

Negative effects include impaired reproduction, digestive disorders, weakened immune function, carcinogenicity, hepatotoxicity, neurotoxicity and decreased performance—in addition to higher production costs and lower profits for producers.

Efficacy of FUMzyme®

The revolutionary inactivation capacity of this enzyme has been confirmed in in vitro and in vivo experiments. FUMzyme® can convert about 60 ppm FB₁ into HFB₁, a non-toxic metabolite, in only 15 minutes

In vitro degradation rate of 60 ppm fumonisin B₁ (FB₁) by FUMzyme®. There was total degradation of the FB₁ (18 units/L) after 15 minutes

Adsorption

Mineral adsorbents selectively bind adsorbable mycotoxins such as aflatoxins and ergot alkaloids as well as endotoxins. Mycofix® contains EU authorized bentonite which binds more than 90% of aflatoxins, meeting the strict requirements set by the European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL).

Biotransformation

The unique purified enzyme FUMzyme® degrades fumonisins (FUM) specifically and irreversibly into non-toxic metabolites.
