dsm-firmenich, Booth S0430, IFT FIRST, Chicago, IL, USA, July 16-19 2023

Kaiseraugst (Switzerland), Heerlen (Netherlands), June 26, 2023

dsm-firmenich, a global leader in nutrition, health and beauty, invites food and beverage manufacturers to explore its future-forward solutions at IFT FIRST 2023. Focusing on improving taste, texture and health in the plant-based, wellbeing, indulgent and active nutrition categories, visitors to dsm-firmenich’s booth, S0430, will be able to experience the company’s innovative ingredients in action through consumer-centric concepts in bakery, beverage, confectionery, fresh dairy, plant-based and savory.

Elevating plant-based nutrition

The plant-based category has broken through impressive barriers in taste and texture and quality nutrition is now under the spotlight. In answer to this maturing consumer demand, dsm-firmenich created its highly functional Vertis™ portfolio of plant proteins primarily for meat and fish alternatives. The portfolio includes Vertis™ CanolaPRO®, a canola-based protein that contains enough levels of all nine essential amino acids to be a complete protein, is free from major allergens and has a PDCAAS score of 1. The Vertis™ portfolio can be experienced through samples of plant-based meat, seafood and dairy alternatives, high protein baked goods, confectionery and ready-to-mix beverages.

Demonstrating its expertise as a one-stop-shop solutions provider, dsm-firmenich will showcase plant-based fermented dairy alternative concepts using its Plant Power Toolkit. The extensive toolkit features enzymes, cultures, hydrocolloids, proteins and ready-to-use concepts, simplifying the NPD process and helping brands launch new, tastier and healthier products to market faster.

Eating for wellbeing

North American consumers are prioritizing their health with 65% saying they’ve become more health conscious1 and 85% consuming products with functional ingredients.2 But health means something different to everyone; 79% of US yogurt buyers want to improve their gut health; 49% of US consumers worry about immunity; around half are concerned about their mental health (57%) and mood (48%); and for 56% eye health is a key concern.3

dsm-firmenich helps brands launch new products with enhanced, scientifically verified claims such as boosted energy, relaxation and immunity in consumer-friendly formats and colors. Attendees can see this innovation in action through concepts fortified with protein, vitamins and minerals; vegan candy gummies; energy, mood, hydration and recovery drinks and more.

Active nutrition for all

In line with consumers taking proactive care of their health, the active nutrition category is going mainstream. In 2022, 72% of US consumers said they believed sports nutrition products with multiple functional benefits are important and 52% purchased a milk protein drink.4 To appeal to this active lifestyle consumer, convenient and tasty on-the-go formats, high protein formulations and complementary health claims will stand out. dsm-firmenich’s concepts for this market include high-protein probiotic dairy shots, a post workout recovery powder high in EPA and DHA omega-3s, an energy drink that enhances mental and physical energy and a non-caffeinated carbonated energy drink.

dsm-firmenich invites visitors to stand S0430 to explore new and exciting ways to innovate, improve and grow. To find out more about the company’s offering at IFT FIRST, visit https://www.dsm.com/food-beverage/en_US/about-us/events/IFT-FIRST-2023.html.
